Alibaba open-sources medical AI model that can detect cancer and nearly 150 conditions

Damo Academy, Alibaba's research arm, has announced the open-source release of an AI model capable of identifying nearly 150 abdominal conditions, including cancers, by analyzing CT scans. The model, named Damo Radar, is designed to analyze contrast-enhanced CT scans covering 18 abdominal organs and can detect a wide range of diseases and abnormalities, such as malignant tumors. This development marks a significant step in the company's expanding medical AI initiatives, enhancing its capabilities in providing innovative diagnostic solutions in the healthcare sector.
