Huawei Aims to Be Technology Base for AI Drug Discovery

Huawei's president of the pharmaceutical business unit announced that the company will not develop drugs or build its own pipelines. Instead, Huawei aims to be the technology base for AI drug discovery, providing computing power, storage, and networking to drug manufacturers and research institutes. The company is supporting partner projects by deploying clusters of around a hundred accelerator cards to train, deploy, and optimize drug discovery models. Huawei has collaborated with two healthcare companies and supports research bodies like the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica and Changping Laboratory.
