EU Proposes New Plan to Protect Children from Online Risks

The European Union is set to introduce a new plan imposing restrictions on children under 15 from accessing social media and gaming platforms. This initiative is part of the EU's child protection law, which will be presented by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen this week. The plan proposes a tiered access system based on the child's age, allowing those aged 15 and above to create their own accounts. Children aged 13 to 14 will need parental consent for preliminary accounts, while accounts for children aged 3 to 12 will be fully controlled by parents.
