New Study Reveals AI Risks to Banks' Cybersecurity Defenses

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has published a new study on the impact of frontier and agentic AI on banks' cybersecurity defenses. Developed in collaboration with the Cambridge Digital Innovation and Regulation Initiative (C:>DIR), the study assesses resilience across four measures: speed, reach, authority, and trust. It highlights how AI agents can make attacks faster and harder to trace, particularly through shared cloud services. Instead of merely checking AI model accuracy, the research emphasizes the importance of understanding what an AI system can access and what it is permitted to do.
