He Couldn’t Land a Job Interview. Was AI to Blame?

A medical student spent six months investigating the impact of an algorithm on his job applications. Using Python to examine data and analyze results, he found that the algorithm might be the reason for his application rejections. This case raises questions about fairness in the use of algorithms in hiring processes. Algorithms are commonly used to evaluate job applications but can lead to unintended discrimination. In this student's case, a non-transparent algorithm left him feeling unjustly treated. This emphasizes the need for greater transparency and accountability in the use of technology in recruitment.
