Google Develops AI to Detect Blood Pressure Using Smartwatch

Google Research has developed an AI capable of detecting signs of high blood pressure using only the pulse and motion sensors in a standard smartwatch, eliminating the need for a cuff. In a study involving 196 participants, the AI achieved a detection rate of 65.8%, surpassing traditional in-office measurements. This method is already available in the Google Health app, although it does not replace formal diagnoses.
