Investment Initiative to Build $3 Billion AI Data Center in Oman

Mubbadrah Investment is leading a consortium to build a $3 billion AI data center in Oman, with a planned capacity of up to 400MW. The consortium includes local and international firms such as Sustopia Capital and Vela Tech, aiming to host large-scale AI training and inference workloads. US company Crusoe has expressed interest in utilizing the data center's capacity. This initiative comes as Oman sees growth in hyperscale data center projects, reflecting the country's commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure. The project is expected to be executed in phases as user commitments are secured.
