Kazakhstan's AI Ecosystem Shifts from Infrastructure to Deployment

Kazakhstan is witnessing a shift in its AI ecosystem from infrastructure plans to actual deployment. Firebird is expanding its operations in Kazakhstan after securing a U.S. export license for 45,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs. The first phase of the project is under construction in collaboration with Kazakhtelecom, targeting a commercial launch in the third quarter of 2027. Firebird plans to establish Firebird Labs Kazakhstan to support local AI startups through funding and research partnerships. Kazakhtelecom has already deployed 400 NVIDIA GPUs in Astana and Almaty, with plans to deploy over 1,000 GPUs in the Data Center Valley next year.
