EBKernel Unveils Cog-WM 1.0 Brain-Inspired Cognitive World Model

EBKernel, a Shanghai startup, introduced Cog-WM 1.0 during the brain-inspired intelligence session at the 2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum. This model focuses on latent-space prediction instead of pixel replay, drawing inspiration from human cognitive maps. Notably, it improved the success rate from 78.50% to 86.89% on the HM3D-ObjectNav subset. Cog-WM Nav 1.0 can navigate without a prebuilt map, maintaining explicit spatial memory and predicting exploration subgoals. The manipulation branch, Cog-WM Manip 1.0, excels in multi-timescale state prediction, effectively linking short-horizon action effects with longer task progress.
