Nokia opens Riyadh R&D centre for AI network automation

Nokia has opened its first research and development center in Riyadh, focusing on AI-driven automation and orchestration software. The facility will specialize in Service Management and Orchestration (SMO), Self-Organizing Networks (SON), and Autopilot, enabling communication networks to operate more autonomously. This initiative follows an agreement signed with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, aiming to enhance local infrastructure capabilities and train Saudi engineers. The center will create high-value software engineering roles and export 'Made in Saudi' innovations to global markets.
