OpenAI expands Daybreak cyber programme and partner network

OpenAI announced the expansion of its Daybreak cybersecurity program with the launch of the GPT-5.6-Cyber model. The program aims to equip approved defenders with advanced capabilities for vulnerability research, amid rising concerns about threat actors using AI to identify vulnerabilities. The program features two access tiers: Daybreak Blue and Daybreak Red. The former provides access to advanced general-purpose models with tailored safeguards for defensive activities, while the latter grants access to purpose-trained models for vulnerability research and advanced security testing.
