Chinese Academy of Sciences ZhiJing Zing Social Intelligence Model Tackles AI Most Embarrassing Weakness: AI System That Understands Social Context, Emotions, and Unspoken Signals

CAS ICT launched the ZhiJing social intelligence system on July 24, addressing AI's challenges in understanding social context and emotions. ZhiJing evaluates social cognition through the SoMBench benchmark, which breaks down human understanding into three major dimensions and 71 fine-grained tasks. The SoMBench benchmark includes 3,481 rigorously reviewed instances and employs various methods to identify model error patterns. Testing on 20 top-tier models revealed that the best model achieved only 72.08% accuracy, confirming that social intelligence remains an uncharted territory.
