Microsoft's new MAI models

Microsoft has announced the launch of two new language models: MAI-Thinking-1 and MAI-Code-1-Flash. MAI-Thinking-1 features 1 trillion parameters with 35 billion active parameters, while MAI-Code-1-Flash boasts 137 billion parameters and 5 billion active parameters, specifically designed for high performance in GitHub Copilot. Microsoft emphasizes that MAI-Thinking-1 was trained on commercially licensed data, setting it apart in the market. Similarly, MAI-Code-1-Flash was developed entirely using clean, appropriately licensed data, raising questions about the data sources utilized.
