Google begins work on its first data centre in Austria

Google has recently commenced construction on its first data center in Austria, aimed at enhancing AI capabilities and digital infrastructure in the region. Located in Kronstorf, the center will create 100 direct jobs, with thousands more anticipated through construction and suppliers. The project includes initiatives for water recovery and heat reuse, reflecting Google's commitment to sustainability. The center will be equipped for heat recovery, featuring a green roof and solar panels. Once a consumer is identified, heat can be provided free of charge to qualified partners to help reduce carbon emissions in local heat sources.
