SDAIA Highlights Role of Standards in Enabling AI Applications at 10th Standards Forum

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) highlighted the role of standards in regulating artificial intelligence technologies and supporting the reliable and responsible development and adoption of AI applications. This was presented during SDAIA's participation in the opening address of the 10th Standards Forum, organized by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization in Riyadh. SDAIA's Senior Advisor for AI Governance, Dr. Abdulrahman Habib, explained that policies and regulatory frameworks define the objectives AI systems should achieve, while standards specify how these requirements are implemented, measured, and verified for compliance. He also noted SDAIA's efforts in issuing over 10 regulatory frameworks and tools for AI and adopting 23 national AI-related standards.
