Morocco, Mistral partnership releases open-source Darija AI

Morocco's Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform has announced the release of the first open-source AI tools in partnership with French company Mistral. The tools include a language identification classifier and a speech recognition model, facilitating the handling of Moroccan Darija. This initiative aligns with Morocco's Digital 2030 strategy and the AI Made in Morocco roadmap, led by Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni. The new tools aim to support Moroccan developers and companies in creating AI applications capable of understanding Darija.
