Visa Launches Open Source Cyber Defense System to Tackle Growing Threats

Visa has announced the opening of part of its AI-based cyber defense system as open source, following tests revealing concerning vulnerabilities. This move comes as the company prepares for potentially more autonomous and adaptive cyber attacks. Rajat Tanja, Visa's technology head, stated that the new system, called the 'Visa Vulnerability Agentic Harness', was developed after participating in Anthropic's 'Project Glasswing' to test advanced AI capabilities in cybersecurity. The 'Mythos' model tests revealed its ability to identify complex security vulnerabilities, prompting Visa to create fast defensive tools.
