Hong Kong to expand AI use on 1823 platform to vet public inquiries by end of year

The Hong Kong government announced plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence in its 1823 platform within this year. This platform will transcribe, summarize, and triage residents' inquiries, allowing staff to focus on more complex cases. The Digital Policy Office also indicated it would begin exploring the application of agentic AI in the fourth quarter of this year. The study will focus on how to safely and effectively expand this application to other departments.
