Scribe Me App: A Breakthrough in Helping the Visually Impaired

Karen Mourad, a 16-year-old from Cairo, lost her sight five years ago, but she felt as if she regained it thanks to the Scribe Me app developed by her brother Mark. During a safari trip in Kenya, Karen used the AI-powered app integrated with Meta glasses to hear continuous descriptions of animals, helping her form a mental image of her surroundings. The app, designed specifically for the blind, allows real-time questioning and currently supports 20 languages, including Arabic, with thousands of users across 140 countries. Mark, who also lost his sight, learned programming to create this app after facing significant educational challenges.
