China Proposes Law to Combat Cyberbullying Using AI Technologies

The Chinese Cyberspace Administration published a draft law aimed at reducing cyberbullying, including abuses supported by AI technologies. The draft applies to activities within China and to individuals and organizations abroad targeting the country. It mandates digital platforms to verify user identities before allowing information publication. The proposed rules require platforms to track risks associated with AI-generated cyberbullying content, ensuring its removal and direct reporting to authorities. Schools are also mandated to include anti-cyberbullying curricula in their educational programs.
