Limited control, rising dependencies leave UAE enterprises exposed in AI age: IBM

A new report from the IBM Institute for Business Value reveals that 88% of surveyed executives in the UAE find it difficult to switch their primary AI vendor. The study indicates that 74% of these executives see meeting data residency and sovereignty requirements across geographies as challenging, complicating the movement of AI systems. The findings highlight the increasing pressure on organizations to strengthen control over their AI systems, with 96% of respondents not fully understanding their dependencies on AI vendors, limiting their risk assessment capabilities.
