The European Commission is evaluating the practical effects of U.S. guidance impacting Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company. This assessment follows Anthropic's suspension of its advanced model operations due to a U.S. government order restricting access for foreign clients. A Commission spokesperson confirmed that while these models offer significant benefits, they also raise serious cybersecurity concerns. Thomas Renée, the Commission spokesperson, emphasized that measures taken should not discriminate against partners. He also noted that Europe must enhance its technological sovereignty amid these developments.
