Telstra and Google to boost digital infrastructure across APAC

Telstra has announced its collaboration with Google to enhance digital infrastructure across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership aims to integrate fibre and subsea networks to meet the growing demand for AI technology. Google will work with Telstra on the Aura fibre backbone, securing inter-city dark fibre capacity and targeting new opportunities along key connectivity corridors. Telstra describes the Aura network as the "backbone of Australia’s digital future," with 8,000 km already laid and plans to expand to 14,000 km upon completion.
