Google is trying to make deepfake detection more accessible for everyone

Google announced at the I/O conference an expansion of AI detection capabilities in Chrome and Search. The updates will include SynthID, an invisible watermarking technology developed by Google DeepMind, and C2PA content credentials. This aims to help users understand how online content is created or manipulated. Users will soon be able to verify images with SynthID markers, indicating they were created using Google's AI tools. This feature will roll out in Search, including Google Lens and AI Mode, starting today, reflecting Google's commitment to enhancing transparency in digital content.
