Microsoft launches ‘vibe working’ in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Microsoft has launched a new agent mode in Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint this week. This mode is a more powerful version of the Copilot experience that Microsoft aims to market to businesses. Smit Chauhan, Vice President of the Office Products Group, noted that the foundational models were initially not robust enough to effectively activate Copilot. The new agent mode allows users to interact more dynamically with the applications, enabling direct actions on documents rather than just providing answers.
